The Snap:

A new song and an upcoming album! Lady Lamb the Beekeeper (nee Aly Spaltro) is the giver of all good gifts this holiday season. She snagged attention with 2013 release of Ripely Pine, and has a close-knit base of fans eagerly awaiting her next move.

Consider it a checkmate. To celebrate the March 3, 2015 release of After (pre-order and get a nifty hat to keep you warm whilst you listen), Lady Lamb released the single “Billions of Eyes.” Watch it below and soak up the bat-infused awesomeness.

The Download:

My partner and I learned that Lady Lamb the Beekeeper was playing at our local venue… An hour after the show began. It hadn’t been advertised on the venue’s website and crept in at the last minute, a secret for anyone spontaneous or observant enough to pay attention.

To me, this sliver of a could-be experience defines Lady Lamb the Beekeeper. She could fit in with the likes of the Lumineers, the Lone Bellow, First Aid Kit, and the innumerable other bands slowly creeping to the mainstream. But she seems to like staying just shy of the limelight. Whether it’s an intentional act or an inadvertent one, it only serves to make her all the more enchanting.

“Billions of Eyes” is everything that you would expect from the single of her upcoming release. It’s a sip of the towering cup of eggnog that’s got your name on it at a holiday party — it’s not enough to satisfy you, but that’s the point. When the whole glass of eggnog (stay with me here) makes its debut in March, it’ll be a reason to celebrate. It means another hour plus of her voluptuous voice, of her offbeat instrumentals, and of her poetic lyrics. It means magic for the ears.

Take Action!
