BOOK REVIEW – ‘FLASH BOYS’

The Snap:

A while back as part of this column I did book and movie reviews. I don’t really feel that I am missing my calling as a critic since almost no one reads them, but since I liked doing them, I am going to start up again. This book review is about Flash Boys by Michael Lewis

The Download:

I like Michael Lewis. In general I find his books to be very good. They take complicated topics and address them though good story telling. They talk about the people and use them to address the topic. Flash Boys is no different. The story involves a small group of RBC traders who discover that Wall Street is rigged and set out to understand how. The actual way that the markets are rigged, and yes that word is correct, is very complicated. But Lewis, by talking about the people, breaks it down so it is very easy to understand. Granted, if the world of finance and the markets are not of interest to you, then this might not be the right book for you. But if you have even a passing interest in the markets, then I would highly recommend it.

Take Action!
