The Snap:

Game of Thrones debuted its first episode in season 4 last Sunday. Its highly anticipated release wasn’t just hype, as was evidenced by the good ‘ole HBO Go Crash that seems to be the norm reserved for first episodes and finales these days (yes, it also plagued viewers during the True Detective finale. Poor form, expensive premier channel!!!!)

In honor of this fantastic event, we’ve tossed together some resources that will be the delight of any Game of Thrones viewer… Whether you’re a superfan or a causal acquaintance with the Starks, the Lannisters, and the nudity that reigns in George R.R. Martin’s world.

The Download:

Timeline of Weseros and Essos: Want to know about the ancient history that preceded Khaleesi’s dragons and Tyrion’s antics? This is your spot.

Seven Kingdoms Map: It’s tricky to know who is dying and who is killing where. Keep this handy little atlas on hand for reference. (plus, MTV has a nifty interactive version)

Season Four, Episode One… AnnotatedDoes this really need an explanation? Cheat sheet. Plain and simple.

GASP! Peter Dinklage hasn’t read Game of Thrones: We wish he had a better excuse. But he just doesn’t. Though maybe when you work in the Seven Kingdoms they aren’t quite as fun to revisit them in a leisure capacity?

Watch Season 3 in 25 minutes. That’s down from 10 hours of material, folks.

Why Sansa Stark is the strongest Game of Thrones character. Because a little bit of controversial material adds some spice to any TSD post

But it’s really Arya (and her Vine) who steals the showIt’s hard to argue with the show’s youngest badass, eh?

And, just for fun, 12 amazing things that you didn’t know about Game of Thrones. A complete Dothraki dictionary? The series as just one itty-bitty movie? Impressive, folks.

Take Action!
