2013 YEAR IN REVIEW

2013 YEAR IN REVIEW

The Snap:

I think I did a year in review last year. I think I did because I seem to remember trying to figure out a way to get a Babylon 5 quote into the review. Something about “it was the year everything changed.” Not sure if I did or not and right now I am a bit too tired to check so I am going to assume that I did. Given that this is the second annual Snap Download year in review.

The Download:

I figure that I should do a highlights and low lights for the year.

Highlights. This year the highlight has to be the Appalachian Trail hike. The 3 months or so that I spent on trail was possible the best thing I could have done. Going from Springer to Shenandoah was a great experience. I met a lot of great people, lost 30 lbs., and had a lot of unforgettable experiences. Springer to Fontana Damn with Squirrel and Bear Bait, running into Push Up and 22 in Hot Springs NC, taking a week off to sit on a beach in Bermuda, and finally finishing the hike with Al and Snuffy was possible the best way to hike 900 miles. It is something I will remember for a very long time to come.

Possible Highlights. I am putting this into the possible category. I entered into an agreement with a friend to help fund his start up venture. He has assembled a very good team and I think this could be fun. I have no idea if it will work out from a financial perspective, but it will be fun to work on the project.

Low light. This is the low light that I can talk about. There have been a few that I can not really talk about, but the low light of the year has to be hearing that a friend from work had passed away. Bill Roach had some health problems but was still too young to pass. Besides, he was one of the only people at IDC, my former employer, that I could stand next to and look like the reasonable one.

Take Action!
