APPREHENSIVE

APPREHENSIVE

The Snap:

I am writing this on Sunday, March 31. By the time this goes live, I will be on the way to Atlanta. The flight leaves early on Monday morning. I do not have a return flight scheduled because I plan on walking back from Springer Mountain on the Appalachian Trial.

The Download:

I am going to try to write about the trip, and then when I come off trail for a few days, I will upload the posts to this blog. That way I can sort of keep people up-to-date on how the trip is going. So, the daily (sort of) cadence that I have been working towards will slow. The first section of the trail will take 18 days. So no updates for a while. If you are interested in where I am, I will use an app to update my location once a day when I have cell coverage. I do not plan of keeping the cell on all day, rather turning it on once a day and updating.

So here is what I am thinking. I am a bit apprehensive about this hike. After all, it is over 2,000 miles from Springer to Kataden. That is a long way. So in all honesty, I do not know if I will be in the 10% that finish or the 90% that drop out. Only time will tell. I feel that if I can make it to Harper’s Ferry – the halfway point– I can finish. Going into it I am sure there will be highs and lows. Good times and bad. Regardless, I feel that I need to try this and I hope that it will be fun.
