A couple of days ago I wrote an article about the encouraging signs fro the GOP. I was basing this on the statements coming out of people like Bobby Jindal and the choices to rearrange the order of the fiscal issues facing congress. But talk is cheap, actions are not. Recently there have been a few retirement announcements in the Senate. This is opening the field for new candidates and Nate Silver has begun to look at the possible primary candidates. His main objective is to determine who will run and how that will change the outlook of the race. What I am looking for is will these primaries show that the talk is just talk, or has the GOP really realized that they need to expand their base and move away from the evangelical christian white base they have courted over the last few elections.
